to provide in a bankruptcy petition?
Q: What type of information will I be asked to provide in a bankruptcy petition? A: In addition to your name, address, telephone and social security number, debtors will be required to disclose a list of assets and current fair market value for each, including a detailed list of both real and personal property. Debtors will also be required to disclose information pertaining to their current income, expenses and tax returns for the two years preceding the bankruptcy petition. In addition, a list of creditors and amounts owed to each, along with the type of debt (secured, non-secured, etc.) and item(s) purchased will be required. In order for the court to notify each creditor of the debtors filing, a complete list of creditors names and addresses must be provided. An attorney will require a recent billing statement from each creditor to ensure accuracy when preparing the petition.
